Because the service center sucks. I have been there 4 times in the last 3 months and the experience has been disastrous.

The so called service station has no power backup. So, if there is no power, no work is done.

There is not even a fan in the customer waiting section if that what it is. There is a split AC that does not work.

There are 2-3 chairs in that area but those are practically useless because you just cannot stay inside because of the excessive heat.

The spare parts section is a disaster. The guys at the service station failed to find the proper screw that was required for my bike. Instead, they installed a cheap replacement screw stating that they would fix the problem next time. That next time never came.

The people working at the service station are mostly seen searching for tools or chitchatting with each other.

I talked to couple of other people who were there to get their bike serviced. All of them had a similar story… The service center has been like that since the very beginning. There has been no change. You might end up waiting for days before your bike is serviced because of the power problem.

Frankly speaking, I lost enough sweat to fill a coffee mug waiting to submit my bike for the second free service today.

The service station is operated by Pickup Yamaha… I found a lot of complaints about this dealership online. I had no idea my experience owning a Yamaha bike would turn out to be this nightmarish.

The worst part of the whole ordeal is that Yamaha India website does not have a contact us section. There are no addresses mentioned. No email addresses. Nothing. I tried checking the domain ownership… Most of the details in WHOIS is connected to Net4India! NET4INDIA FOR GOD SAKE! THE WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH IN INDIA!

Even the international site of Yamaha lacks any email address or a contact form. All I found were international telephone numbers for their Japanese offices.

I am not sure what I would do with my Yamaha FZ16… The company is spending shitload of money on advertising… I wish they had spent a little more time selecting their dealerships and making sure that they are worthy of serving their customers.

A couple of more things…

Since you are going to sweat out a lot, make sure you go there with 2-3 handkerchiefs.

I just came back with my serviced bike. It was fun to see 4-5 kids roaming around the ‘facility’ at the Pickup Yamaha service station.

The service station guys could not do the scheduled polishing of the Teflon coating thingy because there was no power.

The service station dude also could not give me a bill because the bill book was full and there were not a single leaf left for me. Awesome!

When I reached the station… almost everyone in the station was gossiping in the ‘customer lounge’ area without any fan or AC… No power. NO FREAKING POWER. And yet they were fine with it.

Frankly speaking… I am worried about riding my bike now after the servicing has been done. I am just afraid that they might not have messed it up. Would take a while for the confidence to build up again.
